Guess what ... I finally drank the water!
I started Whole30 on March 1st and the first few days were GREAT. I breezed through the first week. There definitely were some times when I had cravings but I didn't hit the "kill all the things" until week #2. I did a video log of week 1 and week 2.
Since I have finished the Whole30, I have learned a few things:
- It is possible to lose 16 pounds in one money simply omitting sugar from your diet.
- It is possible to take control of your diet.
- It is possible to eat three times a day and NOT be hungry between meals.
- After finishing the diet, HFCS and I do not get along anymore ... at all
- After finishing the diet, eating two cookies will make me puke.
- I am super excited about getting to meet the Hartwigs here in KC during their book tour
- I discovered that I do not necessarily need a nap in the middle of the day to make it through.
- Water does get old after a while, but it is easy to flavor
- I don't have to worry about Willow or Chloe sneaking off with my drink, because it's just water!
- Oh, and the best part ... I do not feel a strong urge to eat crap food like I used to!
My new goal is to continue with a low-carb, low-sugar diet and prepare for the Color Run 5K at the end of May.

Heather,
ReplyDeleteVery impressive. You did it. I love 30 day challenges, having succeeded at several of them (30 blogs in 30 days, writing at least 50,000 words and completed my novel in 30 days, and more). At this point I realize that it needs to be a whole lifestyle effort, not just diet and not just exercise.
So I stopped what I was doing on the ocmputer and headed for the health club this evening. Since I keep track and announce it in a FB group every time I do a few more miles, that gives me the incentive I need to skip the excuses and just go do it.
I also have a FB group called "Our Healthy Living." You are welcome to join. It is just a place to share your health goals and successes, or struggles. There is something magical about knowing others are paying attention.
Warmly,
Dr. Erica
