Over the weekend we finally got to have our #DisneySide party after almost a month of planning. I was accepted to the DisneySide by Home Celebrations again this year and decided I was going to make it a straight party. Last year, it served as Peanut's birthday party.
When I got the email that I was selected, I learned that I would be getting a generic party box. I was SO happy! I knew that meant a LOT of Mickey and I would be able to tailor it to all ages. I wasn't disappointed either. In the box I was given ALL laundry pods, Mickey plates, cups, and napkins, and decorations. However, they also supplied us with a lot of games and activities, as well as party favors for the guests.
Honestly, I had originally planned to have my party as an adult party, but my kids were growing in disappointment at that decision, so I decided to change. We ended up having a decent size group at the party and everyone had a great time. There are a few things that I will remember for next time:
- Mail invitations out 2 weeks early cause USPS sucks
- Purchase Mickey Mouse sprinkles online because they aren't sold in stores
- Don't believe things that claim they are easy, actually are ... they aren't!
- Buy pre-sorted M&Ms
I started the prep work the night before, but I really should have given myself even MORE time than that.

In addition to getting the major decorations set up, I baked the cake. Our party package came with a Tie-Dye Cake from Duff Goldman. I was SO thankful that the instructions on the box were set up as a tutorial. I felt like Duff was walking me through the process!
 |
| The different tie-dye colors: yellow, orange, red, green, and blue. I didn't have enough batter to do purple |
 |
| Layered and leveled |
 |
| The tie-dye appearance (we thought it turned out awesome) |
I had started on the favor boxes, but after making one ... I sent the task to my minions (battle of the distributors)
 |
| I did cut them all out for them .. |
 |
| They weren't amused |
For our treats, we did Mickey Mouse Popcorn, Mickey Mouse M&Ms, Butter Cupcakes, Mickey & Minnie Pretzels, Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treats, and Mickey Pizza
 |
| Mickey & Minnie Pretzels (candy melts black & red then almond bark dots) |
 |
| The goodie table (The diamond favor boxes hold the M&Ms) |
 |
| Our pepperoni pizza with olives shaped like Mickey heads & pepperoni was cut using our cookie cutter from last year) |
 |
| Again - buy pre-sorted M&Ms. We used the Yellow, Red, and Blue for the party. Hubby bought 4 BIG bags of M&Ms. |
 |
| Mickey Mouse Popcorn minus the sprinkles (cause you need to buy them online) |
Of course, I HAVE to show you a picture of our finished cake. I should have done it the night before so it was a pure rush job. Not my best work ... at all.
 |
| Buttercream frosting that I tinted part of it black. The red is actually just the cake! |
We didn't just eat though ... we also played games! We played Bingo and Pin the Smile on Mickey (no pictures of Bingo because I forgot to have releases signed)

I really think that the photobooth with the
photo props were the favorite by all. I LOVED the photo props and was extremely pleased with the quality of service.

| However, the youngest of the crew had the most fun! |
Overall, it was a GREAT time. The kids all left with a package of photo paper, a Mickey tattoo, a Mickey Mouse pencil, and a thank you pack created by Disney. I enjoyed visiting my #DisneySide and look forward to our next celebration!

Hello there, Heather! What a fun read. I especially liked the Mickey pepperoni with the Mickey olives on the pizza. VERY creative. Wish I had been there! Much Love, Fondly, Robin
