Go ahead, jump. Jump!

My daughter has sensory processing disorder and one of her biggest things is touch. She is a seeker and loves to rough and tumble. She is not a huge fan of noise, nor does she like a lot of people around. I got the chance to review a SkyZone birthday party and I immediately chose my little Monkey.

Honestly, I was concerned about the noise and number of people when we walked in, especially when she talked about it being loud. However, I was fairly certain that once we got into the 0-4 year old area AND she started jumping, it wouldn't be so bad. I was right! Thankfully, this allowed me to take plenty of pictures, videos, and give you a really good review.

Upon Entering SkyZone

We were immediately greeted by our party hostesses at the door, which was awesome. We got our shoes off and put on the rolling shelves. We were also able to put our cake on them as well, allowing it to be taken to the party room while we had our jump time. The hostesses went over the rules and gave us our SkySocks (which normally cost but you can bring them with you each time you go). We had already filled out our waiver online (STRONGLY suggest this so you don't have to worry about it there) and it stays valid for an entire year.

Jumping Time

We were given stickers that had our jump time. We got 90 minutes of jumping with our party. There were 4 areas to jump, with one of them having a rotating age limit. Monkey and Turtle stayed in the 0-4 section, as there were only a couple other kids at any given time. This was perfect for Monkey, who was a little overwhelmed at first. The other area was a foam pit, where they have kids jump from trampolines into a big ... wait for it ... foam pit! Turtle was NOT about that, but the other kids loved it. One of my son's favorite locations was the basketball court. The last zone was dodge ball. This is the area that has rotating age limits. They do 5-10 year olds and then 11-14 year olds. I do believe they have an adult time ... but it is on a completely different day. I have to check into that though.

Party Time

After the kids jumped for 90 minutes, it was time to move into the party room. We had 40 minutes for the party room, but we didn't end up using it all. SkyZone takes care of the food & beverages (soda, water, or juice) and pizza. They also provide the lighters. You simply need to bring the cake and candles! Now ... in FULL disclosure, I NEVER show my PinFAILS on my blog. I had made an adorable cupcake cake. It looked ALMOST perfect and then we went outside ..... and the wind ruined EVERYTHING. You are going to get to see the result of that pain. Yes, it absolutely frustrates me and the perfectionist in me is SCREAMING. Thankfully, Monkey did not care because it was yummy.

Our Verdict

We absolutely LOVED SkyZone KC. We have already our next visit planned. I am excited that they are doing a sensory night so Monkey can go with less noise and people.

  1. Looks like some little people had some serious fun there! You are a busy mom -- no wonder you aren't able to keep up with a daily blog post according to the specifications of the blogging challenge. Isn't living life, and making memories for your little ones, more important?

  5. It really is. I figure that I can be a tad behind on the challenges because I am living in the moment with my babies!
